It’s almost time for half term and the countdown to the festive season is on! While our team are busy building the light trail and getting everything ready for your glittering adventure at Trentham Gardens this winter, there is plenty to enjoy in Stoke-on-Trent over the autumn break…

Pick Your Own Pumpkins
Until 31st October at Lower Drayton Farm

Get into the fresh air this autumn for family pumpkin picking fun! Choose your pumpkin then carve it into a spooktacular design in the indoor carving barn. Head out on a trailer ride, meet the farm animals and much more at Staffordshire’s biggest PYO pumpkin patch.

Clay Club at World of Wedgwood
Until 3rd November

Discover the factory on a specially designed tour for children, or let your little ones create a masterpiece on a potters wheel at a 30 minute class with the studio team!

Pick up an activity sheet to take on the V&A Wedgwood Collection Family Trail to learn what it was like to work in the Wedgwood factory. Explore the beautiful Hem Heath Woods and Nature Trail (courtesy of Staffordshire Wildlife Trust) down a ‘secret’ path at the back of the Wedgwood car park for an outdoorsy autumn adventure as the leaves turn orange, brown and red!

Halloween at the SnowDome
Friday 25th October - Sunday 3rd November

With a chilling Halloween transformation, head to the SnowDome for Spooks & Slide or Treats & Chills, enjoy ice skating or an adventure in the snow fun park, packed full of creepy surprises and plenty to make you scream!

Churnet Valley Railway
26th, 27th & 30th October | Departures from 10:30am

Step onto an American build S160 locomotive at Froghall Station, nestled in the picturesque Staffordshire Moorlands. Enjoy a scenic 2 hour adventure on board, taking in beautiful English countryside for the duration, or disembark and enjoy a scenic country walk.

Gandeys Circus

Don’t miss a brand-new action packed legendary Halloween Spooktacular Big Top Show for all the family. Expect skeletons, vampires, Jack o’lanterns and circus artistes perform exhilarating big production numbers filled with fun and spooky thrills!

Halloween Half Term
Saturday 26th October - Thursday 31st October

Marvel at the artistry of professional pumpkin carvers as they create an impressive pumpkin trail featuring nine unique scenes. Bring your camera for the selfie trail; strike a pose in front of trick-or-treat doors, sit on the pumpkin throne, and dodge zombie hands. Little witches and wizards can enroll in Witch and Wizard School, where completing magical tasks earns them a graduation certificate. The day will also feature live performances from delightful children’s groups and an exciting pantomime. Enjoy vintage rides and savour tasty treats as you explore!

Creepy Crawlers
Tuesday 29th October - Thursday 31st October

If you’re feeling brave, visit Trentham’s Creepy Crawlers event to get up close and personal with Halloween’s scariest creatures! Meet rats, frogs, tarantulas, and snails! Plus, enjoy fairground rides and the Trentham Ferris Wheel.

Trentham Monkey Forest
Open daily until 3rd November

Walk amongst 140 free-roaming Barbary macaques in 60 acres of woodland at Trentham Monkey Forest this half term, before they close for the winter! The sanctuary focuses on the conservation of this endangered primate. See the primates exhibiting natural behaviours as you wander the 3/4 mile path. This Halloween take part in spooky quizzes and trails on your visit, too!
